JOB DESCRIPTION **Project Engineer
Summary: Callahan Construction is a growing General Contractor in Fairbanks, Alaska. Our work is focused primarily on federal and commercial vertical construction. We are looking to add a Project Engineer to our team. This is an entry/mid-level experience position suited well to someone with the desire to learn and grow. This Project Engineer will work directly with Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure the successful completion of projects.
Example Job Tasks:
- Oversee aspects of job specific Quality Control Plan.
- Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications.
- Record daily quality control observations for construction activities.
- Conduct preconstruction meetings with the superintendent and subcontractors prior to the start of a new phase of work.
- Perform quantity take off and other cost estimating tasks.
- Document and maintain project specific tests and inspection logs.
- Record and distribute Contractor punch list items, Government punch list items,and verify completion prior to Final inspection.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Positive attitude, self-motivated, honest.
- A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering is preferred.
- At least two years of college education required.
- A minimum 5 years of construction experience required.
Compensation / Benefits: Compensation is $20-$40/hr DOE. Benefits include employer paid Health insurance, Paid Vacation/Holidays, Employer sponsored 401k with matching.
