Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Administrative Assistant I located at North Platte Office in North Platte , Nebraska. Position closes September 25, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time.
Position Summary
Serves as administrative liaison - typically for executive or manager, providing a wide variety of administrative support, general business unit processes, and routine and special projects/processes of an administrative or analytical nature.
Education, Training and Experience
Associate's degree and three years of related experience.
OR
Completion of a one- or two-year post high school secretarial certification program and four years of related experience.
OR
High school diploma/GED and seven years of related experience.
Prior Related Experience
Secretarial, clerical, or administrative experience is required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain an awareness of executive's or manager's issues and schedules; anticipate needs and/or required actions; update, track, follow-up, and/or expedite, as appropriate. Act independently to resolve issues within defined area of responsibility.
Process, screen, and prioritize correspondence, calls, and general information ensuring the most effective use of executive's or manager's time. Routinely deal with confidential information and act appropriately. Respond independently within defined area of authority. Direct requests for information to others, as appropriate.
Act independently to establish, maintain, or adjust executive's or manager's schedules and/or arrangements.
Perform office management functions and perform or direct advanced secretarial duties.
Routinely conduct and report on research of an analytical nature.
Maintain ownership of administrative support programs, projects, and/or processes specific to a business unit or a major process improvement activity.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Continued)
Maintain responsibility for budget preparation, control, and reporting activities. Track and report expenditures. Review expenditures and identify those needing additional management assessment and approval.
Establish tracking reports and maintain responsibility for performance measure monitoring and reporting processes.
Maintain responsibility for preparation and control of records, statistics, and reports regarding operations and/or project activities.
Provide arrangements for meetings, including room scheduling, reservations, and/or travel accommodations.
Provide customer service, ensuring that those needing department support are assisted or directed to the appropriate staff.
Accountable for other duties as assigned.

Salary Information - Nebraska Public Power District offers a competitive starting salary with opportunities for growth. In addition to the base salary range listed below, NPPD employees may also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program (AIP) that may supplement total compensation at a level above and beyond the stated salary range. Successful applicants will be provided more information regarding the incentive program at the time of an interview.
Pay Grade - 8 Monthly
Typical Pay Grade Starting Salary Range: $3,944.00 - $4,831.00
Travel Required: Up to 25% (With no or minimal overnight stays, less than 3 per month, typically within state of Nebraska) Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.
