USU RESEARCH FOUNDATION Student: Systems Engineer Assistant in NORTH LOGAN, Utah

The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a highly skilled, motivated student to work alongside full-time Engineers. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to requirement management and documentation, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) for hardware and software systems for the Air Force.

The selected candidate must be able to work as part of a larger systems engineering team. You will need to own all aspects of your assigned responsibility alongside your mentor.

Candidates should have interest (familiarity is a plus) in one or more of the following areas (please highlight any relevant experience in your application materials): * Systems engineering and Digital Engineering, including MBSE * Basic understanding of requirements management and traceability Required Qualifications: * Must be a USU student majoring in any engineering related field * Must have at least two years in school remaining * Must be able to work 10-20 hours per week during semesters and up to 40 hours per week during breaks (SDL core hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, most hours will be expected to be completed during these hours) * Must be able to work effectively, both independently and as a team member * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal * Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance Preferred Qualifications: * Basic familiarity with fundamentals from a breadth of engineering related fields (mechanical, electrical, software, etc.) * An interest in systems engineering * Experience with SysML, UML, Cameo, or other MBSE tools At SDL, we take pride in and highly value our employees.
