Space Dynamics Laboratory Student: Mechanical Engineering Assistant in North Logan, Utah

The Space Dynamics Laboratory is seeking to immediately hire an undergraduate student in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering at USU to work with professional Mechanical Engineers to design, analyze, manufacture, assemble, and test structures and mechanisms for tactical sensors and instrumentation.
Tasks will include:
Basic and detailed analysis of structures and mechanisms, including structural, dynamic, or thermal analysis
3D Printer operation
Assembly and testing of components
Reporting and presentation of results
Program support as necessary
Support field testing
Required Qualifications:
Must be an undergraduate USU student currently enrolled in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Program
Successful completion of engineering graphics class
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision once trained
Ability to work closely in a team with students and professionals
Ability to see the job through
Self-motivated and dependable
Ability to quickly design parts using Solid Edge
Must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., or other U.S. person
Ability to balance work and school responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with 3D printers
Familiarity with Vibration and Shock
Familiarity with Structures
Familiarity with Heat Transfer
Familiarity with drones
Part 107 pilot license
