Job Title: Security Specialist
Location: North Logan, UT (works on-site)
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Security Specialist (I) to join our security team, reporting directly to the Facility Security Officer (FSO). This role is essential to managing classified lab operations and involves safeguarding and accountability responsibilities as well as personnel security clearance processing and physical security tasks. The Security Specialist (I) will play a key role in ensuring security compliance for our organization's critical programs.
What a Day Looks Like:
- Conduct personnel security investigations and background checks and monitor security clearance requirements.
- Maintain security documentation and records, ensuring all are up-to-date and accurate.
- Conduct security briefings, debriefings, and training sessions for employees and contractors to promote awareness and compliance.
- Respond to security incidents promptly and perform necessary investigations.
- Maintain and regularly update facility security plans, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and emergency action plans.
- Act as a liaison with government security representatives and agencies to ensure compliance with security regulations and promptly address any concerns.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements to enhance security.
- Oversee the physical security of the Open Storage Area, ensuring full compliance with relevant government regulations and internal company policies.
- Manage access control systems, visitor management, and security clearance processes for personnel.
- Perform self-inspections and assist in external security inspections and audits as required.

- This position requires the use of information that is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee (visa sponsorships unavailable).
- This position reports onsite, this is not a remote posit ion.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security clearance.
- Strong understanding of general security principles and practices.
- Proficiency in common software programs, including Word, Excel, and Power oint.
- Strong analytical skills, with the capacity to convert complex data into actionable insights.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a commitment to accuracy.
