U.S. Army Reserve Command Physical Security Specialist in North Little Rock, Arkansas

Summary About the Position: This position is with the 63RD RSC Physical Security Branch, with a duty station of North Little Rock, AR. Responsibilities Execute and monitor the physical security inspection program for the 63rd Readiness Division area of responsibility or the assigned Inspector area. Propose physical security plan changes to increase efficiency of the current policy. Recommend necessary physical security training to the management team. Instruct courses at Physical Security Officer workshops. Evaluate the command compliance inspection program by conducting studies. Coordinate inspections, assessments, and on-site physical staff assistant visits for the assigned Inspector to ensure compliance. Determine physical security vulnerabilities by reviewing loss of assets reports. Establish policy, guidance, programs, and standard operating procedures in accordance with available regulations. Develop the physical security inspector training program to maintain consistency across the area of responsibility. Advise on protective measures to safeguard highly sensitive items and munitions. Support upper management’s initiatives by completing assigned special security projects. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) performing physical security inspections to maintain the safety of personnel and property; 2) instructing at physical security workshops as required; 3) providing guidance on physical protection of personnel, facilities, munitions; and 4) assisting in the development of physical security policies, standards of operations and programs. OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Criminal Justice, Sociology, Business, or other academic fields related to resource protection. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09). Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. Position may be filled as a Term appointment NTE 13 months. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.
