EchoStar RF Engineer in NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nevada
EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for an RF Engineer in our Hughes Network Systems division. This key individual will work as part of a team in our North Las Vegas (NLV), Nevada facility.
Responsibilities:
All preventive and corrective maintenance for the RFTs in NLV supporting numerous platforms.
Works closely with the NLV RMC and FSG teams in one of the most complex communications networks and as a member of the team will be responsible for 99.99% system uptime with zero defects.
Assist in developing, updating and keeping reference material as needed.
Oversee installation, testing, operations, and maintenance of satellite earth station equipment.
Operate and maintain RFS, GSC, GBBF, MCP, SBSS, SBAS, and all mechanical and electrical elements of the Teleport.
Assume responsibility for escalation and emergency response requests in a 24 x 7 x 365 environment.
Occasional work required during maintenance windows, outside of normal working hours.
Monitor power, HVAC, fire detection/suppression, and local security and monitoring systems.
Maintain equipment inventory and configuration management records, including software releases, patches, etc. to include ensuring compliance with applicable standards
Identify root causes on technical problems and develop procedural and technical recommendations for improvement.
Basic Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Person (e.g., U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, U.S. National or a protected individual under 8 U.S.C 1324b(a)(3)) as position requires access to U.S. export restricted materials
AA degree or higher, electronics school certification, or equivalent military training and experience.
5+ years of directly related work experience
Essential Qualifications:
Must be physically able to climb to heights in excess of 20ft.
Must be capable of carrying weights up to 75lbs.
Ability to work and manage in a 24 x 7 x 365 work environment, multi-task while meeting deadlines, and work well under pressure
Preferred Qualifications:
Self-motivated and independent.
Basic electronics troubleshooting skills desirable (ability to use and interpret readings from a range of test equipment including spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, protocol analyzer, power meter, Fiber test sets, etc.).
Candidates must have excellent problem-solving, customer relations, conflict resolution, and written and oral communication skills.

Satellite Earth station RF equipment installation and maintenance experience
