Job Description
The AbbVie Talent Acquisition team has an exciting opportunity for a Talent Acquisition Manager to join our Strategic Recruitment team. This role offers an opportunity to work across various functions, delivering proactive recruiting strategies through the use of market insights and data to position AbbVie as the employer of choice in the biopharma industry.
The Strategic Recruitment team provides hiring support across business functions at all levels and is deployed to business-critical projects to showcase an advanced level of recruiting skill and capabilities to assist areas of the business that are planning for rapid growth or expansions.
The Manager will be hands-on and will not only drive hiring strategies, but will also carry requisitions to support key hiring initiatives, while also managing team members that may be deployed in other business functions within AbbVie.
This role will create robust recruiting strategies, determining the necessary qualifications and skills for success in those roles, and assessing candidates based on the organization’s culture and values to ensure a good fit, all while providing a positive hiring manager and candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
Responsibilities
Provide recruitment leadership to a team of Talent Acquisition Professionals, manage requisitions when deployed, and deliver a positive experience to candidates and key stakeholders across the organization for key projects and hiring initiatives.
Along with the Director of Talent Acquisition, will set vision, strategy, and goals for the Strategic Recruitment team responsible for hiring talent across multiple functions for AbbVie. Develop and implement comprehensive Human Capital Response Plans to meet business objectives.
Stay current on industry overviews, market trends, and company initiatives and communicate insights to team members and business leaders.
Lead effective recruiting process, practices and standards providing high quality experience for candidates and hiring managers. Recruitment focus is specific where deployed, but has insights from multiple functions to provide differentiated support and hiring strategies. Responsible for attracting top talent and develop a strong qualified candidate pool.
Oversee pre-employment process (background check, references, etc.), as well as the preparation and approval of offer package, providing equity & market competitiveness data research.
Ensure compliance to state/federal employment laws and AbbVie policies and practices for applicant tracking compliance and reporting metrics.
Provide a true business partnership with hiring managers and leadership on all staffing related issues. Build solid relationships with key partners across the organization that yield consistent process and impactful results. Use data and market intelligence to provide consultative guidance.
Regularly assess future talent needs and partner with TA Director and Finance to ensure appropriate budgeting is in place to support recruiting demand.
Additional responsibilities include managing requisitions, updating the applicant tracking system, achieving recruiting metrics and reporting key accomplishments.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum 5-7+ years recruitment experience in a competitive, fast paced environment.
Must project a strong business presence and have the ability to instill confidence in clients and to deliver results.
Proactive recruiting and sourcing experience.
Prior staff management experience strongly preferred. Pharmaceutical industry recruitment experience strongly preferred.
Experience in collaborating with a broader HR Organization in support of business initiatives preferred.
Builds strong relationships with peers and cross functionally with partners outside of team to enable higher performance.
Raises the bar and is never satisfied with the status quo.
Creates a learning environment, open to suggestions and experimentation for improvement. Learns, fast, grasps the 'essence' and can change the course quickly where indicated.
Embraces the ideas of others, nurtures innovation and manages innovation to reality.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

Salary: $103,500 - $197,000
