Job Description
The Manager, HR Communications is responsible for contributing to the development and execution of communications that drive greater understanding of AbbVie’s offerings as a best workplace and enhance an employee’s workplace experience. The Manager, HR Communications has accountability for the management and oversight of specific initiatives to achieve AbbVie HR’s strategic priorities. Projects may fall into Total Rewards, Talent and/or Culture areas.
This position will work a hybrid work schedule from our AbbVie Lake County, IL location.
Responsibilities:
Leads development and execution of comprehensive communications plans for specific projects utilizing writing and project management skills.
Establishes communication plan objectives, timelines and deliverables, writing accompanying key messages and narratives.
Drafts compelling, high-visibility messaging that has company-wide, global impact.
Uses consulting and writing expertise to explain complex content in a clear and understandable way to employee and leadership audiences, utilizing various communications channels.
Effectively manages client relationships with internal stakeholders and design vendors.
Utilizes project management tools to manage projects according to plan.
Monitors processes and defines success outcomes using clear metrics.
Contributes to current HR Communications channels while leveraging new technology and metrics to identify new opportunities to drive greater employee engagement.
Coordinates with Enterprise Communications and other functional communications teams, as needed, to ensure employee communications are delivered effectively.
Ensures communications are consistent and aligned with the company’s corporate and employer brand identity, strategic direction, business philosophies and general practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in public relations, Integrated Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or equivalent
6+ years of relevant experience and proven track record of success in managing employee communications or HR initiatives
Experience in the healthcare/bio-pharma industry a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with knowledge of emerging communication trends and technologies
Strong business acumen with the ability to anticipate company and team needs
Experience working with senior management and executive presence
Strong project management skills and ability to multitask

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.

Salary: $103,500 - $197,000
