Job Description

The Maintenance Technician III will work independently, providing technical support within the maintenance department as well as training junior technicians on more complex tasks. The work hours for this technician will be a rotating 12-hour shift from 6am to 6:30pm, 4 days on and 4 days off.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to Abbvie’s code of conduct.

  • Maintain the function of department assets to ensure reliable equipment and quality standards are met.

  • Assist in root cause investigation and reliability centered maintenance analysis.

  • Conduct testing of conductor insulation, transformer coils, circuit breakers and related switchgear on a routine basis using testing equipment.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), whether used for Distributive Control Systems (DCS) or emergency lighting, located throughout the plant.

  • Trouble shoot, repair, and conduct preventive maintenance on motor control centers.

  • Is proficient in multiple skilled trade disciplines and creates or edits maintenance job plans.

  • Fully proficient in their core function, performing advanced level tasks. In addition, capable of training others on tasks.

  • Assist cross functional teams outside of the maintenance organization.

  • Supports continuous improvement projects and safety initiatives within the maintenance organization and/or the site.

  • Understands and follows all safety and GMP regulations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required plus 10+ years of experience or relevant certificate with 5+ years of experience or an associate technical degree with 3+ years of experience, or proficient in 2 or more skilled maintenance functions.

  • Knowledgeable in the operation of Soft Starts and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).

  • Demonstrate understanding of AbbVie Electrical Standards, NEC, and GMP requirements.

  • CMRT (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician) or equivalent accreditation desired.

  • Knowledge and ability to use advanced tools such as machine tools, diagnostic tools, predictive tools.

  • Intermediate computer skills (MS Windows).

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
