Job Description

The Finance Manager leads all aspects of the financials for the Global Distribution & Central Services (GD&C) business unit and provides actionable financial information and business insight to improve decision-making and ensure financial and operating objectives are realized across the supply network. This role partners with the VP of GD&C to drive the distribution network strategy, and it interfaces closely with global logistics directors & commercial affiliates on financial matters regarding warehouse & transportation spending and projects.

The Finance Manager is responsible for leading Global GD&C Finance processes which cover all finance aspects through our Actual/Plan/LRP processes. You will work globally & closely with cross-functional business teams, logistics leaders and external logistics partners to support freight payment processes and strategic roadmap activities supporting the digital supply chain emphasizing data analytics segments and sustainable margin improvement initiatives.

The Finance Manager will be exposed to complex international accounting and financial processes collaborating with global functional areas including commercial affiliates and operations finance teams with global communication and coordination. The successful candidate for this position has a consistent track record of leading high performing teams, the ability to influence outcomes and operate independently, as well as balance demands from a variety of partners.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis – Actuals Process and Reporting:

  • Lead and develop the team in the analysis of logistics spend to provide actionable insights to business partners regarding monthly financials, project spend & margin improvement projects.

  • Be responsible for the development of monthly management reporting schedules and analytics of financial performance for the GD&CL function.

  • Validate and proof methodologies for savings initiatives and monitor and track progress of the programs, reporting progress toward annual savings goals.

  • Financial Planning & Analysis – LRP/Plan/Update/LBE Cycles

  • Lead forecasting cycles (LRP, Plan, Update, & LBE’s) for the GD&C function.

  • Set expectations, develop timelines, create reporting deliverables, and lead communications with GD&C leadership regarding planning cycles.

  • Effectively manage a team of supervisors and analysts to execute on the planning processes.

  • Align with procurement and global logistics teams to develop savings initiatives and ensure calculations and methodologies are aligned.

  • Finance Business Partnership:

  • Help to implement the strategic roadmap by aligning with business partners and empowering the finance team to deliver outstanding results.

  • Collaborate with key finance partners (i.e., commercial) to ensure alignment around trends, forecasts, and actuals for freight & distribution expense.

  • Identify and lead system and operational improvements to use changing technology and to advance business objectives.

  • Lead and build standard logistics packages for management review delivering insights and actionable intelligence.

  • Influence key strategic initiatives and lead special projects providing financial leadership and support.

  • Lead annual PO process and ongoing review.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree B.S. or B.A. in Business (Accounting/Finance) required; CPA or MBA preferred.

  • 6+ years of progressive accounting and/or finance experience.

  • Strong business partnership and leadership skills with a team-oriented nature

  • Possess a working knowledge of US GAAP, AbbVie’s policies, and financial controls framework.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead multiple priorities (across different time zones) to achieve results and meet deadlines.

  • Disposition to generate ideas and embrace the ideas of others to lead innovation to reality.

  • Proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint

  • Knowledge of SAP, BPC, and visualization reporting softwares (PowerBI, Workiva, etc.) preferred.

Salary: $103,500 - $197,000
