Aerotek Production Technician in North Chesterfield, Virginia
Description:
Essential functions include the efficient operation of the specialty chemicals plant. Candidates will be working with powdered chemicals used in the polymer making process

Documenting processes
Once trained, this position is responsible for the safe, and environmentally sound and efficient operation of the chemicals' plants, which includes utilities, bulk storage and warehouse.
Candidates will operate plant machinery and equipment as necessary, ability to do repetitive tasks and remain in a stationary position for an extended period. This could include opening and closing valves, monitoring instrumentation panels, and reporting all findings from gauges.
Must dump 10kilo bags and up into containers, utilize basic math skills and track and monitor plant data and follow procedures. Will climb ladders, must be willing to operate forklift, and other manual duties lifiting up to 50 lbs.
Must stay current on operating procedures, emergency procedures, safety and policies.
Will move about the premises daily and in between buildings often exposed to the elements and weather conditions. Expected to perform independently on assignments and precisely follow verbal and written instruction. Must be able to communicate with all levels of staff and management.
Will train for 1-2 full weeks before working
Candidate must be able to use forklifts, industrial scales, Power tools, hand tools, and perform maintenance on equipment as needed.
Troubleshooting will be required for minor maintenance defects and some electrical experience would be preferred for their instrumentation.

Previous Chemical experience is not necessarily required as they are open to both experienced and trainable candidates as they are flexible to hire entry level candidates with a desire to learn and be trained OR someone with packaging experience.
