Job Duties
The Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Intelligence Analyst Senior. The Intelligence Analyst Senior will be assigned to work and support the overall mission in the Virginia Fusion Center.
The Senior Intelligence Analyst performs crucial work in monitoring, researching, evaluating, and disseminating intelligence related to international and domestic terrorism, precursor crimes, and extremist activities. This role involves conducting in-depth analysis of multi-faceted data to identify methods, trends, and patterns associated with extremist groups, terrorism financing, and other terrorism-related threats. The Analyst supports prevention and response efforts by providing actionable intelligence on threats to government officials and other critical targets. Additionally, the role requires ensuring a robust internal control environment by mitigating potential risks, maintaining data accuracy, safeguarding assets, and adhering to relevant laws and regulations. The incumbent in this position will be required to produce reports and briefings to individuals at various levels. The Intelligence Analyst Senior will lead and assists with team projects and make sound recommendations for the Virginia Fusion Center and intelligence community.
All VDEM employees are designated as essential personnel and may be required to work during emergency situations such as inclement weather and natural or human-made disasters. This may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the Employee Work Profile.
Minimum Qualifications
Considerable experience in and/or knowledge of intelligence analysis, counterterrorism, or a related field.
Working knowledge of research and analysis techniques.
Demonstrated experience in collecting, analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting complex data and technical information, orally and in writing.
Ability to apply critical thinking to diverse information sets and produce logic-based analyses and recommendations on probable and potential trends and event outcomes.
