KBR’s Defense Systems Engineering (DSE) business unit is seeking to hire Electronic Security System Technicians to join our Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Operating Unit. CIP provides expertise in the design, installation, and maintenance of Electronic Security Systems (ESS) and Utilities/Control Systems for the DoD, FAA, and Federal Law Enforcement.
Job Summary: The Electronic Security System Technicians will be involved in troubleshooting, replacing components and wiring circuits; repairing electronic equipment; and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers and oscilloscopes. The work requires knowledge of basic and advanced electrical and electronic principles as they pertain to security systems and equipment installed at facilities.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be tasked with the following:
Provide guidance to a small team of EMT IIs based on supervision from the project/program manager.
Perform cabling and infrastructure installation to include EMT conduit, cable trays, cable and fiber optics. Installation of CCTV IP cameras, access control and intrusion detection panels and field devices in accordance with Installation Design Plan (IDP).
Perform function tests and analysis on various installed systems.
Diagnose and correct equipment malfunctions and failures.
Cable dressing and labeling installed devices in accordance with IDP.
A successful candidate must have a solid history of functioning in a team environment, being a self-starter, working independently with limited instruction, and meeting critical demands.
Must have excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
Basic Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED.
Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or four (4) year electronics apprentice program. Formal electronics training, to include; Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors.
Eight (8) years of practical experience, to include: electronics repair, maintenance, and checkout. Three (3) years of practical experience in electronics installation.
Standard MS Office software product knowledge (Word, Outlook, Excel and Power Point) is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be subject to a background investigation. Secret Clearance preferred.
Special consideration given to candidates with OEM factory training from Identiv, Bosch and/or Cisco Switches.
This is a Service Contract Act (SCA) position.
