Aircraft Structural Assembly
Job Description
We are seeking Aircraft Assembly Structures Mechanics (Level B, C, or D) to support various production areas across different airplane programs. This role involves working in a manufacturing assembly environment, utilizing training and certification knowledge to complete assigned tasks. Responsibilities include interpreting drawings, reading work instructions, and identifying necessary tools, parts, and equipment to ensure defect-free work.
Responsibilities
Complete the New Hire Training Cycle Flow to obtain and maintain required certifications.
Use computers in a production environment.
Set up and validate jigs and other tooling setups.
Perform close tolerance drilling and installations in critical aircraft structural areas.
Use calibrated precision measuring tools.
Utilize various fastener removal tools and techniques.
Work with CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastic), aluminum, and titanium structural materials, including drilling, sanding, and fastening.
Read and comprehend technical work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
Use software applications such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Windows, and SAP.
Wear appropriate protective clothing/equipment as determined by the task.
Use various structural assembly hand tools and air tools.
Inspect work quality and check for Foreign Object Debris (FOD).
Perform physical tasks such as climbing, balancing, crawling, crouching, and working in confined spaces.
Essential Skills
Ability to work variable shifts (1st, 2nd, or 3rd).
1+ years of experience with software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite, and/or other specialized computer applications.
1+ years of experience with aircraft structural parts fabrication, assembly processes, and procedures.
1+ years of experience following detailed work instructions, reading, and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications in English.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to work in confined spaces.
Ability to work with hazardous chemicals.
3+ years of experience with structural repair operations involving the 787 or other legacy models (727, 737, 747, 757, 767, 777).
3+ years of experience in aerospace, manufacturing, aviation and/or fabrication.
Completion of a degree or certification from a trade school and/or A&P license.
Relevant Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) include Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics, Aviation Structural Mechanic, Aircraft Structural Maintenance, and Aviation Maintenance Technician.

Work Environment
Large teams and need to be open to working 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts. Typical shift times vary. The work involves using various hand tools, measuring tools, power tools, and assembly tools. Work includes physical tasks such as climbing, balancing, crawling, crouching, and working in confined spaces. Appropriate protective clothing/equipment must be worn as determined by the task.

This is a Contract position based out of NORTH CHARLESTON, SC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $50.00
