Req# 27622 Aultman Health Foundation, NORTH CANTON, OH AULTMAN MEDICAL GROUP INC Aultman Health Foundation Full Time, Day Shift, 4 - 10 hr days; no weekends or holidays $2,400 MA Sign On Bonus Available with a 2-year commitment to Aultman Position Summary: Assist in the delivery of care provided to the patients of Aultman Medical Group, Family Medicine of Stark County, as directed by the Primary Healthcare Providers and Patient Care Management team. Staff are expected to be prepared and ready to work in their respective work areas at the start of their shift. Responsibilities: Rooming patient Use two patient identifiers Document chief complaint Obtain patient history Verify/Update medication list Ask patient if medication refills are needed Verify preferred pharmacy Propose medication refills for provider Verify preferred facility for outpatient testing Obtain vital signs Have patient change into a gown if needed for examination Prepares examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies and materials needed for exam/procedure Assist provider with minor surgical procedures and women's health exams Maintain all supplies and equipment used for procedures including cleaning and sterilization Discharging patient Complete all tasks ordered by provider Document vaccines, injections, POC testing in designated Excel spreadsheet Enter required quality codes Print ambulatory visit summary for patient Communicate return to office, blood work, outpatient testing and referral orders to patient If outpatient testing ordered ask patient preferred days/dates/times for testing Send message to Outpatient Test Scheduling pool with all information If referred to specialist send message to Referral pool with all information 3. Proficiency in Office Procedures Vital signs EKGs Venipuncture Vaccines Injections Tuberculin skin test Urinalysis Urine HCG Rapid strep testing Rapid flu testing Visual acuity screening Audiometry Tympanogram Ear irrigation Fecal occult blood test Ensure Quality Patient Care Provide excellent customer service Always maintain patient confidentiality Follow and maintain OSHA/HIPAA safety guidelines and standards of care Review patient messages and obtain additional information from patient/patient representative prior to forwarding to provider Alert provider when sending a high priority message Process urgent requests, triage calls, patient care messages in a timely manner Provide education materials as directed by provider and ensure patient understanding Meet current documentation standards and policies with in electronic medical record. Perform other tasks directed by management Office Requirements Must be able to stand, stoop, walk steps and carry up to 30 pounds Maintain a neat, professional appearance and work area Comply with all organizational policies and standards regarding ethical business practices. Maintain a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments. Demonstrate an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations. Follow office dress code and wear identification badge while on duty Attend regular staff meetings and in-services. Education and Experience Excellent written, verbal and telephone communication skills Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program Must obtain certification/registered within 90 days of employment Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practice Nurse program Current state registered LPN license Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within thirty (30) days from hire Knowledge of medical terminology and medical office policies and procedures
