ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:
The Support Services, Field Technician will be responsible for deployment, support and maintenance of enterprise technology including field support services.

MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review request assignments and open request times to adhere to established service level agreements of requests
Resolve requests that are sent from the ITS Service Desk
Collaborate with colleagues and staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes
Maintain and continuously improve our current enterprise solutions deployed across our region, including the enterprise ticketing and reservation management solution to ensure continued ease of use for end users
Obtain required hardware, build POS systems, and ensure an adequate pre-configured inventory for quick replacement of in-field hardware
Conduct ongoing testing to ensure our systems remain robust, secured, and patched
Travel to deploy, troubleshoot, replace, or upgrade hardware and software systems as required
Discuss hardware requirements with all customer groups and provide suggestions, demos, and upgrades when requested
Leverage our remote support solution to ensure efficient remote management, maintenance, and troubleshooting of systems
Develop and document IT support service processes and procedures in alignment with ITIL and industry best practices
Ensure support team adhering to established processes and procedures.
Provide end user training on the use of ONTC provided equipment including debit machines, printers, and web based ticket selling application
Maintain and update the ONTC digital bulletin system, display board system and Linux-based kiosks
REQUIREMENTS:
Advanced College Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
3-5 years of Computer Technician and/or Computer Networking experience
Certification in ITIL and/or PROSCI Change Management is preferred
The ability to convey messages that will be easily understood and train others on complex systems for support related activities
Continuous improvement mindset
Exceptional documentation skills
Working knowledge of IT development best practices, standards and methodologies including compliance requirements (PCI, EMV, etc.)
Experience and proficiency with Windows/Linux Operating Systems (specifically CentOS / Oracle Linux)
Good understanding of the Spacewalk/Oracle Linux Manager application as it relates to remote administration, patch deployment and security configuration
Strong knowledge of computer and POS hardware including printers, debit machines, weight scales, and peripherals and general hardware compatibility with Windows and Linux
Exceptional interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on collaboration and customer service
Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism in all client communications
Project management skills – the ability to plan and manage successful projects, including managing risks, costs, time, and team
Excellent organization, time management, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel (up to 50%) throughout our system
Bilingualism an asset
