Berkshire Family and Individual Resources (BFAIR) Behavior Specialist (Adult Services) in North Adams, Massachusetts

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Adult Services Behavior Specialist is primarily responsible for assisting with the development of behavior plans, psychotropic medication treatment plan and data collection systems, working with direct care staff and managers to enhance understanding and proper utilization of plans, and ensuring that individuals served receive appropriate and consistent support and guidance needed to achieve their own personal goals and to develop necessary skills and healthy behaviors. The Part time Behavior Specialist also collaborates with outside agencies to assist with collaborative treatment goals.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of two years’ experience utilizing behavior management techniques for individuals with developmental disabilities is required.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: Receive and maintain current certification in First Aid, CPR, Medication Administration (MAP) and START Training; Ready access to an automobile and a valid driver’s license. Position requires strong organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively.
