DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position involves professional responsibilities within the Environmental Cleanup and Brownfields Program, where you will perform a variety of duties to ensure compliance with the Commonwealth's rules and regulations governing storage tanks, superfund sites, and voluntary remediation projects. As an Environmental Compliance Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement a uniform compliance and enforcement program. You will prepare and review violation letters, department orders, criminal complaints, and other documentation for use in the prosecution of cases and in administrative hearings. You will negotiate settlements of cases, prepare civil penalty assessments, and negotiate penalties payable to the Commonwealth. Additionally, you will be responsible for assisting field personnel in resolving problems, as well as training them to navigate the enforcement process.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Norristown. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of professional experience as a Sanitarian, Air Quality Specialist, Solid Waste Specialist, or Water Quality Specialist; or Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training which affords the applicant the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.

Special Requirement: This position requires possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license as issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
