Spectrum Comm Inc Warehouse Specialist in Norfolk, Virginia

Spectrum Comm Inc. (Spectrum) is seeking candidates for Warehouse Specialist at our site locations with a Navy customer at NAVSUP FLC Norfolk in Norfolk, VA. This is a full-time position. This position may require support performed withina 50 mile radius of Naval Station Norfolk.

Responsibilities:

  • Receives and identifies various types of material. Applies technical knowledge in the areas of Navy & Marine Corp aircraft/shipboard electrical and electronic Depot Level Repairable (DLR) components to identify unique characteristics of material, condition codes serviceability and end use. Applies technical knowledge to update material to current National Stock Numbers (NSN) where possible

  • Receives material from customers at Collection point. Will be required to operate a forklift for loading/unloading trucks, vans, etc. Performs minor or emergency maintenance as required on forklifts. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and use MHE pallet jack, etc. for heavier items. Use of a personal computer is required. Working environment is in a warehouse that may be cold in winter and hot in summer

  • Record receipt/shipping data in designated Databases

  • Screen/verify material identification

  • Provide disposition determination. Including entering pertinent data into a Computer database to generate shipping documentation

  • Package/crate and perform woodworking duties in accordance with NAVSUP Publication Packaging Instructions 700 (P700)

  • Create barcode labels for non-automated shipping/receiving documentation

  • Successfully/properly refurbish/clean shipping containers

  • Document inventory of containers in the NAVY ERP

  • Conduct quarterly spot inventories

  • Conduct wall to wall inventory annually

  • Enter all material receipt data in the ERMS

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen

  • Must possess a valid US driver’s license

  • Valid SECRET clearance

  • Must have knowledge of US Navy inventory procedures

  • Must be able to do moderate lifting (over 40 lbs.) with assistance and stand for up to 8 hours

  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software programs and use a desktop computer

  • Minimum of 4 years of logistics experience with 2 yrs in Navy or Marine Corps environment

  • Working knowledge of US Navy Supply systems

  • Electronic Retrograde Management System (eRMS) knowledge preferrable

  • Navy ERP knowledge preferable

  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment such as Gloves, Goggles, Apron, Face Shield

  • Pass periodical physical examination and possess a Medical Examiner's Certificate at all times

  • Forklift qualified

  • Able to work overtime, if required
