THOR Solutions, LLC Shipboard Electrical Technician in Norfolk, Virginia
THOR Solutions is actively seeking an experienced Shipboard Electrical Technician with U.S. Navy shipboard experience to provide full-time support for U.S. Naval shipboard auxiliary equipment at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) in Norfolk, VA.
Typical Responsibilities: The candidate’s responsibilities may include (but are not limited to) performing or supporting the following actions:
Technical assists
Total Ship Readiness Assessment
Monthly Status Reports
Location: Onsite at Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) in Norfolk, VA.
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Must already possess an active or interim SECRET security clearance and maintain it for the duration of employment.
Required Education, Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
A high school diploma, GED equivalent, or a relevant U.S. Navy technical school diploma/certification.
At least five (5) years of relevant electrical experience within the last seven (7) years in the operation, repair, maintenance and assessment of U.S. Naval auxiliary equipment to include but not limited to:
Fire Pumps, Fuel Pumps, Lube Oil Pumps, Sea Water Pumps, Condensate Pumps, Potable Water Pumps, Main SW Circulating Pumps, Distilling Plants (Evaporators & Reverse Osmosis), Main Drainage Systems, Sewage Systems, Solid Waste Equipment, Oily Water Separators, Condensers/Heat Exchangers, Auxiliary Circ/Condensate/Sea Water Pumps, CHT/VCHT, Purifiers, Main and Auxiliary Condensers, Plastic Waste Processors (PWP) and various types of pumps, valves, and piping associated with mentioned systems.
Demonstrated working knowledge of Navy assessment programs, visit processes and reporting methods for visits.
Demonstrated experience using accepted current instrumentation for diagnosing equipment.
Demonstrate experience interpreting wiring diagrams and control schematics.
Proficiency with common productivity software including the Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
Typical Physical Activity:
- Primarily desk/computer work in an office environment. May involve: repetitive motion. Periodic visits to waterfront/shipboard environments. May involve: traversing shipboard environments (e.g., confined spaces, ladders, hatches) or vision.
