Title: (NEX NORFOLK) FOOD OPERATIONS MANAGER Location: United States-Virginia-Norfolk Job Number: 240001PB Job Summary Responsible for all assigned NEX Food Services PPV and food concessionaires contracts and operations at a large NEX complex. Duties and Responsibilitie s Responsible for execution of contracts and or direct run food services operation at a large complex. Performs duties as a Contracting Officers Technical Representatives COTR for all NEXCOM food service contracts Public Private Ventures PPV and short term food concessionaires to ensure that all aspects of the NEXCOM food service contracts are adhered to and closely monitored. Implements and maintains an effective partnership with each contractor. Ensures service and training programs used meet or exceed NEX standards and customer expectations. Communicate and coordinate with Regional Food Service Operations Specialist District Manager General Managers Contractor on-site manager providing input on food service plans marketing procedures strategies and goals for all food services by base. Makes periodic and frequent inspections of all food services locations within the complex. Partners with the preventative medicine and Contractor on-site manager correct health and sanitation deficiencies and maximize operational performance in accordance with industry and brand standards. Follows up to ensure that prompt and proper corrective action has been taken. Monitors expiration and or renewal of a variety of Retail and other support contracts. Implements approved NEXCOM changes in policies and procedures to improve operations. Responsible for customer service programs operational reporting and inventory control. Responsible for monitoring and managing direct run janitorial services and maintenance of spaces. Ensures compliance with safety security and fire prevention policies set forth by the cognizant authority for spaces within all of the Exchanges and outlying locations. Responsible for the preparation and submission of reports and the maintenance of operating records files. Carries out EEO policies and communicates support to subordinates. Performs independently under the direction of the Services Operations Manager. Monitor sales results gross profits expenses and net proceeds contributions comparing budget to previous year s results. Provide information and appropriate recommendations to improve or correct business performance. Keeps current regarding industry market trends conducts comparisons with other food services operations to benchmark areas of opportunities on all food facilities recommending best practices as feasible. Responds to all inquiries and customer complaints and provides assistance in a prompt friendly manner. Performs other related duties as assigned. The incumbent of this position must file a Financial Disclosure Report OGE Form 450 as required Qualifications: GENERAL EXPERIENCE Three years of experience performed in administrative merchandising technical or other responsible work which enabled the applicant to gain knowledge of merchandising and procurement practices skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships and the ability to exercise mature judgement. OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE 1 year of directly related academic study above the high school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience up to a maximum of a 4 year bachelor s degree for 3 years of general experience. AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE One year of experience that provided background in services merchandising and operational management maintenance of inventory levels stock controls analyzing operational data customers relations exempt or non-exempt supervisory experience of human resources and maintaining effective sanitation security and safety measures or similar work which demonstrated the knowledge and abilities required to manage the operational area.
