Job Description
Come join the best Ship Repair team in the nation! At BAE Systems Norfolk Ship Repair, you will work alongside and help manage multi-million dollars DoD and commercial ship repair projects like the 1,000-ft amphibious Landing Platform vessel or Disney cruise ships!
The Execution Planning Manager role will lead the EVMS and schedule maintenance processes to deliver a master production schedule and analytics, and to forecast and support programmatic decisions around resource capacity and schedule risks. This position ensures that the Execution Planning team and the surrounding stakeholders are set-up to succeed by training, communicating expectations, prioritizing tasks, and following up. The Execution Planning Manager should build sustainable trust and autonomy within his/her team and build rapport with rest of the Project teams. This role reports to the Director of Planning.
Location/Schedule/Travel:
This position is 90% onsite in Norfolk, VA with possibilities of remote work
The working hours are flexible, as long as needs of team / project are met
The role will involve 10% or less of travel
Responsibilities:
Lead a team of Schedulers and Project Analysts to support pre-planning, schedule maintenance, EVMS, and resource capacity management efforts, in alignment with business objectives and strategies
Coordinate and enforce compliance between other departments and stakeholders throughout the pre-planning and execution processes
Identify cost, schedule, and resource opportunities and risks
Lead process improvement initiatives
Fix nuances in business system/data integration and communication processes between multiple Project Management support departments
Regularly coordinate and produce enterprise-level reports
Provide concise and precise data that helps drive decisive action
Work cross-functionally with Finance, Contracts, Project Management, Operations, and Senior Leadership teams to occasionally review, improve, and update inter-departmental processes
Ensure team success through training, communicating realistic expectations, and prioritizing demands
Support team by coaching and mentoring members
Effectively work and communicate with a diverse group of colleagues across the business
Ensure compliance with industry and business regulations and processes
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor s Degree and 8 years of experience or equivalent experience
Experience in Project Management, Production/Program Scheduling, Project Controls, or similar
Experience in Deltek OpenPlan, Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar
Advanced experience with Microsoft Office suite (M365 Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, PowerApp, Teams, and Outlook)
Experience working with Engineering/Construction/Technical Data, Documents, Blueprints, or Drawings
Ability to monitor and report program based on Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
Ability to identify cost and schedule opportunities and risks to program planning and management
Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and functional departments
Ability to facilitate group decision-making and conflict resolution
Ability to work and communicate with a diverse group
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Degree in Construction Management
Professional Certification in Cost Engineering or Project Management
Experience in Data Management
Experience in Shipboard or Ship Systems
Experience in Defense (DoD), Government Contracting, Maritime, or Navy
Experience in DCMA/DCAA Compliance
Experience in Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
Experience in Deltek Cobra, Oracle Primavera, SAS, or similar ERP system
Experience in Data Visualization Software (Power BI, Tableau)
Experience in Techno-Functional, Systems Implementation, Systems Administrator, or similar
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $99800 - $169700
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
