WR Systems Director, Business Development in Norfolk, Virginia

Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

Travel Requirements : Negligible

Location: Norfolk, VA

SUMMARY : WR has the opportunity for a Director, Business Development to direct, establish, maintain, and plan all business development activities.

Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

· Create and implement functional business development strategies and objectives based on corporate growth strategy.

· Develop business growth strategies and targets.

· Identify and maintain a multi-value, multi-year pipeline of qualified Department of Defense (DoD) opportunities.

· Manage and provide leadership for the business development team including engagement, workforce planning, retention, and performance management.

· Collaborate with leadership to analyze government solicitations and interpret evaluation criteria.

· Maintain knowledge of current acquisition trends and market data and sentiment to form organization acquisition strategy.

· Actively participate in relevant conferences and industry days to market WR’s competencies to potential and existing customers and partners.

· Identify potential customers and teaming partners and negotiate agreements.

· Support and participate in bid/no bids, kickoff meetings, gate reviews, status meetings, color reviews, cost development strategy reviews, and other meetings, as required.

· Build and maintain external customer and teaming partner relationships.

· Develop, monitor, and adhere to functional area budget.

· Formulate business development processes and procedures and ensures they are followed.

· Develop and ensure business development metrics are proactively tracked.

· Report to senior and executive management on business development status updates and reports.

Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

· Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Communications, Business Administration, or similar field preferred.

· Ten (10)+ years of experience in managing and directing business development activities in a federal government contracting environment.

· Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

· GovWin experience.

· Strong proficiency in federal acquisition, federal contracting strategy, and Federal Request for Proposal (RFP) efforts.

· Additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
