Who will you be working with?

Wabtec’s Digital Intelligence KinetiX business boasts an industry-leading portfolio of wayside solutions, which facilitate the automated, proactive monitoring of the rolling stock condition, providing data that can be processed to effectively assess rolling stock condition from component level to full train inspection. As a KinetiX Program Manager, you will work with a high-performing cross-functional team in the successful delivery of KinetiX projects and programs.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of Wabtec’s Digital Intelligence KinetiX group, you will play a key role in the execution and delivery of our project business. This role will be responsible for a portfolio of projects with a focus on the delivery, execution, and P&L performance of multiple projects. In this role, you will be a core member of a professional project organization, leveraging existing processes and tools, along with your entrepreneurial, people leadership, and customer management skills. Additionally, this role will be responsible for establishing and controlling the project portfolio budget and reporting on progress to management and stakeholders, elevating risks and challenges as necessary.

This role will also be the direct interface with the customer and all internal and external stakeholders and will be responsible for managing and maintaining key project management tools such as rigorous change management process, risk and opportunity matrix, contingency plans, and communication plans. Creativity and strategy anticipatory thinking are essential qualities required for success, along with a structured approach and rigorous project execution.

What do we want to know about you?

  • BS Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field

  • 7 years’ experience in Project/Program Management

  • Proven experience in Project/ Program management within a matrixed organization

  • Experience with program planning/management systems/tools; with particular emphasis on capacity planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution

  • Proven experience in managerial and technical communication

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities

  • Excellent computer skills – for example, Windows Suite

What will your typical day look like?

  • Manage program to deliver on time, within budget, meet revenue/margin targets, and meet contractual obligations.

  • Adhere to customer and industry standards/specifications, while keeping within Wabtec’s quality standards

  • Lead efforts to identify risks and opportunities, develop plans, and apply countermeasures to improve our position.

  • Communicate issues and opportunities – Include plans to resolve

  • Manage contract, project scope, risk, and Change Orders (CO)

  • Represent the company as a senior customer program interface.

  • Optimize customer relationships through the program life cycle. Foster long-term, customer-centric relationships.

  • Responsible for the development of high-quality written reports/presentations for management and customer reviews.

  • Lead resource, Wabtec management, and customer reviews - project status, risk management, schedule, budget, performance to plan, etc.

  • Travel required to/from intercompany, supplier, and customer offices.

  • Lead by example by personally embracing and integrating process continuous improvement

  • Organize and lead internal and external project meetings. Create and share meeting agenda, record meeting minutes, follow-up on all actions/owners to keep the project on schedule
