Office for the Web is a critical piece of Microsoft 365 ecosystem. Now more than ever, the need to remain connected and productive is essential for our customers. WEST team makes sure that the platform responsible for running Office for Web is modern, efficient, cost effective and has planet grade scale.

As a Senior Product Manager in WEST team, you will be responsible for making sure that the engineers building Office Online thrive and are highly productive. This opportunity will allow you to develop deep customer obsession and product sense along with opportunity to drive complete product strategy from definition to rollout.

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong technical background and analytical skills, with the ability to work directly with both customer and engineering teams across the company. You should be comfortable talking about technical components, understand development cycles but at the same time hold onto the business need and impact.

Responsibilities

  • You will drive business impact across the organization and track success criteria for multiple feature areas. You’ll also identify long-term investment opportunities and engage partners to garner support for those feature areas.

  • You will partner with others to collect performance metrics and form hypotheses for complex technical needs in order to improve product development in targeted areas.

  • Evaluate tradeoffs and prioritize investments in consultation with cross-functional partners to support achievement of success criteria.

  • You’ll own the roadmap for multiple feature areas, and will collaborate with a partner team to build golden configurations and drive scenario walkthroughs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Extensive experience in the software industry, with 5+ years’ experience in product management or in similar roles.

  • Experience across the complete product cycle, from initial design to execution and release process.Proven ability to drive large scale projects with high collaboration and leadership.

  • Detail oriented and able to rapidly come up to speed on complex technologies and architectures.

Other Requirements

Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements that are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check : This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

  • Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including articulating complex issues and solutions.    

  • Strong project, stakeholder, and partner management with experience in working with large-scale, cross-functional, geo-distributed teams.  

  • Innate curiosity and the ability to thrive in a highly ambiguous and fluid environment. We look for self-starters and innovators with a positive, can-do attitude and bias for action.   

  • Affinity towards user-centered design, product thinking, and innovation on behalf of the customer.
