Data Warehouse Engineer

Cadence is looking for a hardworking, highly motivated Data warehouse engineer. This high-performing individual should have collaboration skills, ability to work across multiple domains and software disciplines to achieve results. This is an experienced and hands-on Data Warehouse developer position that requires research, analysis, design, and development of solutions per our business requirements.

You will build Cadence enterprise data platform to support data-driven culture. You will work closely with business users, collect business requirements, prepare design documents, develop ETL logic and validation scripts to ensure 100% data accuracy, design security control, and deploy and monitor solutions in production.

Role: Data Warehouse Engineer

Location: India, San Jose, Austin, Cary

Must Haves:

  • 10+ Years in DW/BI space in both designing the model and building analytics. At least executed two end-to-end implementations. At least worked for min. 2 year in Azure SQL and ADF and for 3+ year in building Tableau model/reports/dashboards

  • Experience in developing and optimizing stored procedures and functions using T-SQL for data migration and transformation

  • Master in Azure SQL stack architecture (SQL Server, SQL Warehouse and Azure Data factory)

  • Technical knowledge of python, Pentaho, or shell scripting is required

Preferred skills:

  • Predictive modeling & analytics

  • Ability to draw data insights

  • Experience in prescriptive analytics (e.g. identifying the best course of action for a given condition)

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all warehouse data, design architecture, and prepare appropriate documents to develop schema data model.

  • Coordinate with business users and prepare documents to plan and control various volumes of data.

  • Maintain data warehouse systems and provide production support.

  • Evaluate all data and perform various tests on data warehouse and ensure effective implementation.

  • Administer all data and ensure compliance with standards and policies. Maintain high quality of all deliverables and provide efficient guidance to all database architecture.

  • Self-motivated, passionate for technology, and strong driver for results and continual improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Solid knowledge of data warehouse systems (star schema, snowflake schema, dimensions, measures, slowly changing dimensions, etc. is a must).

  • Administration experience of Tableau server is mandatory

  • Technical knowledge of python, Pentaho, or shell scripting is required

  • Ability to interact with business users to understand business requirements, document them, and provide an optimal solution.

  • Past experience in leading a technical team is desired.

  • Knowledge of other analytics platforms like Epiphany, SAP BW, etc. is a plus.

  • Functional knowledge of common business processes like quote to cash, procure to pay, hire to retire, clickstream analysis, revenue, booking, billing, etc. is desirable.

  • Production support experience in investigating errors/exceptions and resolving the errors at the root level.

  • Extremely good verbal and written communication skills.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field or equivalent experience.
