Positions in this function design, engineer, and manage the organization's infrastructure and operational platforms. From a cloud services model, this includes services commonly thought of as IaaS and PaaS and their underlying foundational components. Additionally, this function also has responsibility for traditional enterprise infrastructure and operational platforms such as email, file transfer, and collaboration technologies, among others. This role must understand functional and non-functional requirements to ensure they can be achieved through system design and engineering to meet the needs of the customers. Work closely with business and technology stakeholders to develop roadmaps for their respective technology portfolios, resolve cross-system and domain dependencies, ensure effective integration among the services offered to the end customer, and efficient usage of infrastructure and operational platforms. Monitor technological advancements and industry trends to influence company standards and ensure that solutions are continuously improved and maintained through product management practices, including recommendations to invest in a solution or retirement of redundant or out-of-date systems. Understand the interactions between systems, the applications and services hosted, and evaluate the impact of changes and additions. Perform analysis on existing systems to ensure performance and reliability, enhance scalability, meet security requirements, and interoperable and maintainable technology portfolio.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Working with Software Engineering teams; evaluate system specifications, provision and support delivery of application infrastructure

  • Define and drive Azure Architecture decisions to ensure the stability, reliability and availability of applications and services

  • Create and maintain IAC using Terraform & Configuration Management using Ansible / Chef

  • Create and configure CI pipeline supporting Continuous Delivery

  • Implement and document agreed upon standards to support auto-scaling infrastructure

  • Administer Windows and Linux Servers including configuration, patching and ensure overall server health

  • Analyze all aspects of existing application infrastructure and recommend modifications that will enhance application reliability, availability and scalability

  • Engage in capacity planning and demand forecasting; software performance analysis and system tuning

  • Performance analysis using APM and other monitoring tools to identify system performance issues and bottlenecks

  • Work with log aggregation tools like Splunk

  • Other responsibilities as determined necessary

  • Provides explanations and interpretations within area of expertise

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience with Azure/Public Cloud ecosystem, infrastructure automation and monitoring tools

  • Experience in migrating and transforming existing systems to the cloud using Azure tools and best practices

  • Practical experience with AKS, Envoy, Nginx, Helm, API gateway, Service Mesh

  • Knowledge of Terraform for cross-platform cloud provisioning

  • Knowledge of Programming with Python / PowerShell or Java

  • Tools / tech expertise:

  • Docker, K8S, Helm

  • GitHub Actions, Jenkins

  • Terraform

  • Azure

  • IaaS (Compute, storage & network)

  • PaaS (FD, App Service, AGW, APIM, AKS, SQL, Redis, EventHub, App Insight, Log Analytics, etc.)

  • Expertise in identifying and mitigating infrastructure security vulnerabilities

  • Expertise in managing cost optimized infrastructure setups

  • Expertise in setting monitors, triggers, alerts and managing the infra setup on highest availability and reliability standards

  • Specialization in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) for container orchestration

  • Proficiency in Azure DevOps or GitHub and know how to use them for continuous integration, continuous delivery, pipelines, and Git version control

  • Proven solid skills in Azure networking, such as configuring virtual networks, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs

  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills to handle complex challenges and issues

  • Proven team player attitude and willingness to collaborate with others

  • Proven solid analytical problem solving and looking beyond what’s obvious

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications with Azure

  • Any relevant industry certifications

  • Experience in supporting cloud migration in Azure

  • Scripting experience (Bash, Ruby, Python etc.)

  • APM experience with Splunk, New Relic, Dynatrace
