About the team: Oracle Autonomous Database Group

This team is dedicated to delivering next-generation, self-driving database solutions that automate database management, optimization, and scaling. Powered by advanced machine learning and AI, the team focuses on providing a fully automated cloud database service that minimizes human intervention and enhances performance, security, and availability. With capabilities such as auto-tuning, patching, backup, and scaling, Oracle Autonomous Database enables businesses to run mission-critical workloads with reduced operational complexity and cost. This innovative solution empowers organizations to focus on business growth while Oracle’s autonomous technology handles the database management seamlessly.

Qualification Required:

  • Extensive experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle Database Performance Tuning, and Oracle Exadata.

  • Strong Oracle DBA skills, including SQL/PLSQL tuning, data compression, partitioning, and materialized views in RAC and Multitenant environments.

  • Proficient in troubleshooting performance issues using AWR, TFA logs, Exa watcher logs, SQLT, SQLHC, and EM monitoring tools.

  • Expertise in Oracle features: Exadata, Cluster ware, ASM, RAC, Data guard, Golden Gate, and patching.

  • Experience with Linux, Windows, programming (C/Java), and cloud services (Autonomous Database, Backup Cloud Services).

  • Advanced scripting skills (Shell, Perl, Python), and in-depth knowledge of large-scale distributed systems.

  • Strong understanding of virtualization (KVM, OVM, Docker) and database high availability (DG, GG).

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting abilities.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in managing customer-facing web services.

Responsibilities

As a member of support organization, focus is to deliver high quality customer service to the Oracle database cloud customer base while serving as an advocate for the customer needs. The job profile involves resolving technical issues mostly raised by customers through the customer portal. The job responsibility includes:

  • Take ownership of customer-reported issues and drive them to resolution.

  • Research, diagnose, troubleshoot, and identify solutions to technical problems.

  • Adhere to standard operating procedures for engaging internal and external stakeholders.

  • Act as a trusted technical advisor, solving complex infrastructure and DevOps challenges.

  • Create and deliver best practices, sample code, and technical documentation.

  • Contribute to simplifying, optimizing, and ensuring the reliability of infrastructure.

  • Participate in the design and architecture of large-scale Distributed DBaaS service features.

  • Design, develop, and implement software solutions to improve availability, scalability, and performance of Oracle DBaaS services.

  • Engage in research and prototyping (proof of concept) for various Oracle DBaaS service aspects.

  • Define and develop monitoring criteria (SLIs, SLOs) for Oracle DBaaS services.

  • Address complex issues and build automation to prevent recurrence.

  • Participate in capacity planning, demand forecasting, software performance analysis, and system tuning for DBaaS services.

  • Fulfill periodic on-call duties.
