Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify appropriate assignment of CPT and ICD-9 Codes for Physician and facility services provided in a behavioral health setting

  • Understanding of ICD-9 Coding in relation to CPC

  • Review and maintain a record of claims, reviewed basis standard CMS guideline

  • Maintain up-to-date Coding knowledge by reviewing materials disseminated/recommended by CMS

  • Adhere to and maintains required levels of performance in both Coding accuracy and productivity

  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate (10+2+3)

  • Certified Coding Credential (CPC) with atleast 1 year working experience

  • Knowledge of all codes sets

  • Knowledge of CPT & ICD-9 Coding

  • Flexible with shifts

  • Proven solid critical thinking, oral and written communication and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with various Encoder systems (i.e., 3M, EPIC)

  • Possess some knowledge of ICD-10

  • Intermediate skill level with MS Office
