Tioga Downs Casino Resort Track Maintenance Engineer in Nichols, New York

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

•Provides excellent guest service to both internal and external guests.

•Actively supports the company culture of creating a fun and entertaining experience for internal and external guests.

•Responsible for maintaining of the race track for jogging and training and racing during the season as directed by immediate foreman.

•Responsible for keeping maintenance buildings clean and secure as well as surrounding yard area.

•Responsible for all general maintenance and repair of minor problems throughout the race track as directed by immediate foreman.

•Ensure adherence to all OSHA regulations and internal safety policies and procedures.

•Responsible for upkeep of lawn, all tracks and barns.

•Operates company vehicles as required.

•Conduct preventive maintenance inspections on all equipment as assigned.

• S upports other Maintenance Engineers as needed and assigned.

•Responsible for all back stretch clean up and barn maintenance as directed by immediate foreman.

•Responsible for cleaning horse manure from paddocks and assigned stables.

•All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED required, tractor driving experience preferred.

Must be licensed by the New York State Racing and Wagering Board.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid driver’s license required.

Must be able to work closely with horses and people in volatile settings.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret simple documents, such as safety rules and regulations, technical procedure manuals, instructions, and basic correspondence, reports and memos. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from users. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
