       2024-2025 School Year Position: Substitute Bus Driver Location: Newton Community School District Bus Driver Salary Schedule for 2024-2025

  • Hourly Route Substitute Base Pay: $31.84

  • Routes are approximately 3 hours per day.

  • Hourly Activity Trip/Field Trip Pay: $20.00

  • Additional hours available year round for activity trips and extracurricular activities.

School Day Routes (Monday - Friday)CDL training providedQualifications:

  • Valid and/or eligible to hold a CDL drivers license to operate a school bus as required by State Law with passenger “P” and airbrake endorsements.

  • Driver must have a good driving record.

  • Driver must comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and obtain/sustain US DOT Medical Examiners Certificate

  • Hired applicants must be able to pass the DCI background check and prework physical requirements.

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for passengers safety, welfare, discipline, and protection.

  • Report any problems or unusual occurrences to the Transportation Supervisor.

  • Adhere to all federal, state, local, and school district regulations, including random drug/alcohol testing.

  • Upon approval from DCI, applicant will receive information about the substitute onboarding process.
