East Bay Community Action Program Dental Receptionist in NEWPORT, Rhode Island

East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is seeking a full time Dental Receptionist for our Dental Center at 19 Broadway in Newport, RI.

The Receptionist will provide all reception and clerical duties to support the operation of the Dental Clinic and/or mobile sites. Assist in the smooth and efficient running of the practice, to adhere to protocols at all times in line with the company goals and mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform a number of administrative and operational tasks in support of the Dental Clinic - both office-based and community-based. Duties include, but are not limited to:
    • Perform daily opening and closing procedures for assigned location.
    • Interact with patients in a professional manner - check in, obtain/update demographic/dental insurance information for all patients, schedule new appointments, collect co-payment/deductible payments, etc.
    • Assist clients to complete registration information; explain, and obtain, signature for HIPAA Policy and Notice of Privacy Practice; explain office procedures and policies when appropriate.
    • Data enter all demographic and billing information into Dental Offices electronic medical record
    • Perform insurance verification checks for all patients scheduled for the current and/or following day.
    • Confirm, schedule, cancel, and reschedule appointments as necessary. Continually monitor schedule and prioritize emergency and/or urgent needs through canceled appointments to maximize productivity.

Successful candidates must be committed to providing quality customer service while handling confidential information in a highly professional manner. Excellent telephone skills and a courteous and helpful manner are essential qualities for the selected candidate.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required and familiarity with medical records preferred.
  • Strong Computer knowledge required.
  • Experience with electronic dental records preferred.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner.
