Amentum Sr. Data Architect in Newport News, Virginia
This position is not currently funded and is contingent upon the award of a new contract to Amentum. At this time, Amentum is seeking candidates to fulfill contingent roles. The expected award timeframe is Fall/Winter 2024.
The Senior Data Architect in Newport News, VA will provide technical leadership and governance of the big data team and the implementation of the solution architecture including the following responsibilities:
Design and build robust, high-performance, and adaptable solutions optimal for modern platform (Big Data/Relational/No-SQL/OLAP) with the ability to integrate technical functionality
Hands-on experience with MS SQL Server 2008, 2010, 2012
Responsible for the delivery of a robust scalable data architecture that meets the business goals of the organization
Institute, champion and implement analytics data
Collaborate with the Application Development team to analyze, identify, design, and implement processes for sourcing data
Provide technical thought leadership on High-Level Architecture and Design, data modeling, Big Data strategy & adoption for Ingestion and Analytics Applications within the Finance IT domain
Generate DDL script from data modeling tool and ensure the script’s proper function
Lead the architecture, design, and development of the business intelligence platform
Define technical principles, vision, and standards for the data warehouse
Ensure the design can scale to handle additional data demands
Minimum requirements:
Master’s degree in computer science or information systems (core focus including data analytics, preferred)
15-20 years of data engineering experience
12 years of direct experience in acquiring information technology base systems within major Department of Defense acquisition programs
Well-rounded data engineer with a focus on data analytics, business intelligence, and data integration challenges
Experience in performing statistical and text analysis with R, data mining with Weka and Oracle Data Miner, and system design and systems engineering
Background in data modeling and development for transactional and online analytical processing systems, along with data migration and data integration
5+ years demonstrated DoD ERP Experience and/or AESIP/GCSS-Army experience, 15+ years experience w/ SAP integration with multiple end-to-end implementations for programs with over 50K end users
Must have a fully-adjudicated, active secret US government clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to maintain a secret clearance.
