Actalent Engineering Technician in Newport News, Virginia
Overview:
Our client is looking to hire an Engineering Technician to join their team in Newport News. The preference is towards experience with maintaining large, industrial equipment.
Description:
- Support client with the maintenance of company designed and manufactured machines including troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of specialized mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems/components.
Qualifications:
5+ years of facilities/machine maintenance experience.
Associate degree or similar level of experience.
The ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
A good understanding of electrical systems to include 480 volt and below including various control voltage.
Knowledge of hydraulic system component diagnostics, repair and failure analysis of valves, stacks, pistons, and rams in excess of 5000 PSI operating pressure.
Strong customer service, interpersonal and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Fast-thinking, pro-active and self-sufficient.
Attention to detail and quality.
Additional Information:
1st shift: 7am - 4pm, Monday - Friday.
Salary: $80-$90k based on experience.
