Location/Division-Specific Information
Part of the Laboratory Products Division, the Newport site manufactures a range of laboratory consumables. These products are used in research, diagnostics, production, and clinical settings.
Position Summary
As a Production Technician, you will maintain and operate Injection Moulding and/or ISBM/EBM equipment, ensuring machinery operates efficiently, meets specifications, and achieves production targets as outlined in the manufacturing plan.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain all equipment in a safe and reliable condition.
Perform mechanical, electrical, and equipment setting tasks within the factory, within your scope of competence.
Assist in training other Production Technicians and participate in training courses to improve skill levels.
Ensure safe working practices at all times and adhere to departmental rules and regulations.
Report any occurrences likely to cause a breakdown to Management promptly.
Set equipment to the required standards to achieve production targets and quality specifications.
Minimize material wastage and identify ways to reduce reject production and process loss.
Accurately complete and update statistical and record sheets.
Ensure compliance with all company rules and regulations while maintaining high housekeeping standards.
Conduct equipment changeovers for various production runs efficiently.
Ensure manufacturing processes adhere to technical and quality specifications in line with ISO 9001 systems.
Support lean manufacturing initiatives in collaboration with the PPI (Practical Process Improvement) continuous improvement team.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
Numeracy, literacy, and basic PC skills.
NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in processing.
Proven experience with injection molding in a similar role.
