Based in Newport Beach, California, this Controller position will be a long-term temporary engagement. If you're looking for work where you will manage the process to ensure that models are correct and are fully accrued each month, verify and hold the operations team accountable to ensure end to end incentive processing, payments, accounting and related financial controls are operating effectively, this Controller position could be right for you!
Assemble evidence and qualitative discussion of monthly financial results across global programs to support SOX controls
Review and monitor that controls are designed and operating effectively in partnership with compliance
Supervise reporting, forecasting, and budgeting processes and tools for the accountable programs
Engage with various business partners for various program controllership and FP& A activities like maintaining accuracy of accrual models, appropriate accounting, and participating in true-up activities. Also answer queries from business, area and subsidiary controllers
Continuous reviewing of actual spend against budget, as well as directing actions needed for any expected shortfalls
Attain comprehension of key financial results and movements across programs to summarize and discuss with key business partners
Ensure timely cash flow forecasts in collaboration with the Treasury
Acquire a thorough understanding of key financial results and movements across programs to summarize and discuss with key business partners Requirements - Ability to manage, lead change and build process improvements
Proven ability to provide leadership across finance team by engaging with different groups around the world via virtual communication
Excellent analytical, organizational, and vendor management skills
Exemplary knowledge in office and accounting computer systems
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant field
- CPA and/or CMA preferred
Outstanding communication and negotiation skills with experience building trusted advisor/consultant relationships and aptitude for influencing Executives and Business Decision Makers
10+ years professional accounting and controllership or public accounting and internal controls experience and/or Internal Audit or Controls and Compliance
Working knowledge of ERP system
Commercial real estate experience
International financial reporting standards experience preferred
Big 4 Accounting Firm experience
Deep understanding of IFRS Accounting
Command of construction
