Robert Half has partnered with a client in the Seacoast area in search of a Senior Fixed Assets Accountant. For immediate consideration, please reach out to donna.leonard@roberthalf

Responsibilities:

  • Fixed Asset Management: Oversee the complete lifecycle of fixed assets, from acquisition to disposal, ensuring accurate recording and tracking in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Capital Expenditure Management: Work closely with project managers and other stakeholders to accurately record and track capital expenditures related to construction projects, ensuring proper capitalization and depreciation.

  • Depreciation Calculation: Calculate and record depreciation expenses for fixed assets in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Asset Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of fixed asset sub-ledgers to the general ledger, investigating and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.

  • Asset Inventory: Conduct periodic physical inventory counts of fixed assets at construction sites and company facilities, reconciling inventory records to physical counts and identifying any discrepancies.

  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports related to fixed assets, providing accurate and timely information to support decision-making processes.

  • Compliance and Audits: Ensure compliance with internal controls and assist in the preparation of documentation for internal and external audits related to fixed assets.

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in fixed asset accounting processes, implementing solutions to enhance accuracy and effectiveness.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in fixed asset accounting, preferably in the construction industry.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards, with knowledge of construction accounting practices preferred.

  • Proficiency in accounting software e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, GP and Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
