Responsibilities:
Fixed Asset Management: Oversee the complete lifecycle of fixed assets, from acquisition to disposal, ensuring accurate recording and tracking in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Capital Expenditure Management: Work closely with project managers and other stakeholders to accurately record and track capital expenditures related to construction projects, ensuring proper capitalization and depreciation.
Depreciation Calculation: Calculate and record depreciation expenses for fixed assets in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Asset Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of fixed asset sub-ledgers to the general ledger, investigating and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.
Asset Inventory: Conduct periodic physical inventory counts of fixed assets at construction sites and company facilities, reconciling inventory records to physical counts and identifying any discrepancies.
Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports related to fixed assets, providing accurate and timely information to support decision-making processes.
Compliance and Audits: Ensure compliance with internal controls and assist in the preparation of documentation for internal and external audits related to fixed assets.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in fixed asset accounting processes, implementing solutions to enhance accuracy and effectiveness.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of experience in fixed asset accounting, preferably in the construction industry.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards, with knowledge of construction accounting practices preferred.
Proficiency in accounting software e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, GP and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
