What We Offer This position is responsible for the Process Control Technology portions of maintenance troubleshooting and upgrades of site assets and the preparation and execution of the Electrical (I&E) portion of the Covestro capital and infrastructure projects. This position assists in the planning and coordination of PCT/Electrical engineering and design of new facilities and renovations of existing facilities. It assists in developing local standards for PCT technology to be used. Typically, this position is directly involved with scope development for projects, review and approval during project execution, startup and optimization. Major Responsibilities Accountable for PCT operation and Reliability. Responsible for ensuring shutdown and turn-around scope align with the asset management strategy for the unit and best known engineering practices. Accountable to maintain the as-built plant documentation in his/her area including critical equipment, Power and control, instrument & safety PM/PdM compliance documentation, as well as control system configuration. Perform trouble-shooting, failure analysis, and defect elimination on PCT failures as well as Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis on incidents. Provide technical direction to PCT Technicians/PCT Designers and electrical contractor. Accountable for PCT troubleshooting, Loop tuning and monitoring, process control optimization, and power systems reliability Configure DCS/ HMI / PLC / Programmable Devices. Provide technical assistance for monitoring process conditions and identifying process control improvement opportunities Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis on PCT failures and participate in Unit HAZOPS and FMEAs. Accountable for controlling and updating unit PCT documentation. Accountable for instrumentation and electrical project costs and schedules. Accountable for operational success of projects. Responsible for Engineering support for Plant Packaging, Pre-mix area and Dust collection systems. Responsible for specifications for new motor starters and soft starts and Variable frequency Drives. Assist/ manage all Site control upgrade projects. Partner with C-TEC and Allen-Bradley to manage PLC training for Maintenance technicians. What You Offer Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Controls Engineering and at least 6years of experience in a related field, or Electro/mechanical or in a manufacturing setting OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Controls Engineering and at least 4 years of experience in a related field, or Electro/mechanical or in a manufacturing setting Preferred Qualifications Maintenance experience, project organization and cost control capabilities Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs with capabilities to configure and program these controllers Knowledge of MSSQL Knowledge of Network Configuration Experience with Lean Six Sigma, Green Belt preferred Experience in polymer compounding/extrusion Knowledge & Skills: Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills, written and verbal. Good communication and presentation skills.
