Posting Summary
The School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) at the Newark Campus of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, seeks candidates for a rank-open, tenure-track position to begin in the Fall 2024, but alternate start dates will be considered. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to: public administration, nonprofit management, public policy, local government, urban affairs, community development, public-private partnerships and performance measurement and management. Candidates will be expected to maintain an active research agenda and to teach in SPAA's MPA programs (both on campus and online) especially core courses, and our PhD and BA programs. Experience with, or interest in, teaching students with diverse cultural backgrounds is also important.

The appointee will become a core faculty member in a NASPAA-accredited public administration program that is ranked 7th nationally in Urban Policy, 8th in Public Management and Leadership, 10th in Nonprofit Management by U.S. News and World Report and holds two other top-25 rankings in Public Affairs and Administration. Rutgers SPAA ranked #5 in the nation, #10 in the world for Public Administration by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy. SPAA was ranked No. 7 Worldwide for Public Administration in 2023 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects.As a major public university in New Jersey's largest city, located just a few miles from New York City, the Newark Campus of Rutgers provides students with the knowledge and preparation necessary for leadership roles in an increasingly complex society, with particular attention to its public mission as an anchor institution. Minimum Education and Experience
Candidates must hold an earned doctorate in public administration or a related field at the time of appointment. Review of applications will begin on May 1, and continue until the position is filled.
