Are you a critical thinker and successful problem solver? The Capital & Structured Solutions team is seeking a Director to serve as a strategic and tactical leader within the Treasury Department as part of the broader Finance & Actuarial Community (FAC).
The Capital & Structured Solutions team partners with Prudentials business divisions and other corporate functions to lead the execution of unique solutions that accelerate critical business and enterprise objectives including capital optimization, growth enablement, and management of risk.
Reporting into the head of Capital Management Frameworks & Solutions, this is a high exposure role that will work extensively with leaders across FAC, Risk Management, Legal, the Chief Investment Office, and all of Prudentials Businesss on pivotal initiatives critical to the continued success of the enterprise. Solutions include a diverse set of structures such as internal/external reinsurance, financing structures and derivatives, and collateral/liquidity vehicles.
The Director provides leadership on analysis and execution in advancing potential solutions across the entire life cycle of a project. Responsibilities will include ideation, sourcing, evaluation, business case development, prioritization, structuring, negotiation, and execution. The Director will also maintain relationships with external and internal partners (e.g., actuarial, risk management, investments, reinsurers, banks, brokers, regulators, rating agencies etc.)
The position requires a leader with diverse financial management skills, successful cross-functional execution capabilities, and capacity for developing a deep understanding, and ultimate ability to solution, across a broad set of complex topics.
Proficiency in the following areas will be expected but also developed in role:
Global accounting, regulatory, and stakeholder capital standards such as U.S. GAAP, U.S. and International Statutory, Tax, U.S. RBC, and management reporting
Actuarial, risk management, investments, and capital management concepts
Business fundamentals and product features, regulatory requirements, derivatives, reinsurance structures, and legal documentation
Leadership, partnership and influencing skills, and the ability to face off with both internal and external subject matter experts
The current EWA for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as scheduled by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.
What you can expect:
Assist in the maintenance an active multi-year pipeline of capital solutions, plan for contractual maturities (facility refinancings), minimize enterprise leverage impacts, and take actions to ensure near and long-term financing is available to cover enterprise needs
Connect with key business partners to understand enterprise priorities and effectively communicate solution structures and impacts via both written and verbal presentations in a simple and consumable way for diverse audiences
Stay apprised of industry trends and emerging solutions and ensure financing costs remain competitive versus current markets
Support Treasurys engagement with internal business partners as a key point of contact for evaluating capital and liquidity outcomes and partnering with Treasury subject matter experts in Capital Planning, Stakeholder Management, Liquidity & Borrowing, and Relationship Management
Support and influence prioritization of solutions to ensure the highest impact with the highest execution certainty are presented for execution in alignment with most critical enterprise objectives
Review legal documentation through partnership with internal and external counsel to ensure alignment with agreed upon terms with appropriate protections and facilitate internal approvals in accordance with established governance requirements
Lead the analysis of strategic enterprise financing capabilities (e.g., captive non-economic reserves, statutory leasing programs, non-recourse investment facilities, etc.) and ensure Treasury objectives, frameworks, and insights are properly considered by business and corporate partners
Facilitate internal approvals in accordance with established governance requirements
What youll need:
Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, or business-related field
8 years of financial management/analysis/research or actuarial experience, transaction structuring or deal execution experience with exceptional analytical skills
Strong, diverse, and flexible knowledge of financial services, life insurance and actuarial concepts, GAAP, statutory and tax accounting, regulatory, risk and capital frameworks
Demonstrated leadership and partnering skills, including success in influencing outside of direct reporting line
Excellent oral and written communications skills with the ability to break down complex risk, actuarial, or financial concepts and communicate them to all levels of management
Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team, including interfacing with members of Senior Management
Itd be a plus if you had:
MBA with finance or accounting concentration or other advanced degree with CFA/CPA designation is highly preferred
