As a Director, Security Solution Architect on the Global Technology Architecture team, you will help advance the strategies of the business and corporate functions focused on securing, simplifying, and modernizing of technology stacks by leveraging architectural principles and patterns. You have a deep and broad knowledge of technology security and security frameworks, a strong passion for managing cyber risks and protecting customer information, company infrastructure, applications, and assets, and you work efficiently with business and technology partners on educating and influencing them on the topics of Cybersecurity and Enterprise Architecture (EA). You will advise on deployments of solutions that are consumable and available across the enterprise and provide architecture consulting on large, business critical programs and initiatives that have high business visibility, impact and/or risk and complexity. You will help establish and maintain enterprise security patterns, as well as solution architectures, and processes to adequately protect information and technology assets.
This role requires a unique combination of skills: strong technical experience, experience working across large enterprises, and the ability to learn businesses quickly. You will be working hands on to develop and validate patterns prior to working with enablement teams to ensure they can be integrated and supported enterprise wide. This role has a high collaboration requirement and requires a thought leader dedicated to challenging the status and striving for continuous improvement.
Location: Preference for Newark, NJ hybrid (minimum 2 days/week in office). Will consider virtual for qualified candidates outside of the commutable Newark office.
Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day:
Key thought leader, collaborator, and contributor, partnering across Architecture domains to author and maintain architecture patterns and reference architectures to ensure information and technology assets are adequately protected by design and are deployed in alignment with other architecture domains (i.e. Data, Infrastructure) and with Prudentials business strategies and enterprise goals.
Collaborate with partners and the broader EA community to ideate on simple, scalable, and reliable solutions. Gain feedback and acceptance of solutions.
Align to enterprise architectural standards and create domain architecture artifacts. Define logical abstracted patterns and reference architecture as the foundation for architecture standards. Define roadmap and reference architecture to implement architecture standards. Ensure architecture patterns are modern/current and built for reusability and can be easily explained, adopted and leveraged across global technology.
Consult with engineering teams on defining the solution implementation that aligns with modern/current Patterns and Reference Architecture; Co-create and evaluate reference implementations that can be leveraged by engineering teams. Partner with engineering teams to explain and evangelize patterns and reference architectures, drive the adoption of architecture principles and patterns and influence implementation solutions in alignment with our modernization goals.
Evaluate implementation of solutions and influence design of solution architecture for alignment with EA patterns and corporate security standards (includes integrations, technology platforms, capacity, and performance management plan) and for alignment with business strategies and enterprise goals. Identify and classify tech debt where solutions deviate from alignment; influence teams to modernize and avoid tech debt.
Ensure solution architecture designs align with corporate security requirements, policies, and standards.
Review new technology use cases, define/design Enterprise Architecture Review Board (EARB)-approved architecture patterns, and build accelerators (e.g., code templates, reference architectures) to enable rapid adoption and implementation by Security, Infrastructure, Application, and Platform Product teams.
Partner with process and technology owners to ensure their alignment with applicable strategies, roadmaps, target state architectures and the incorporation of security and enterprise architectural principles and patterns.
Provide solution architecture consultation and support for initiatives and product teams; educate business and technology communities across all levels of the organization on security architecture, including patterns, standards, trends, best practices, opportunities and challenges.
Scan the market for emerging cybersecurity solutions and new architectural concepts that address challenges or enable new capabilities.
Recommend new technologies to address challenges or deliver solutions where existing technology doesn't exist, existing technology doesn't adequately meet business needs, or new technology delivers better outcomes (e.g., higher performance, lower cost, enhanced security, etc.).
Work on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables and may impact future concepts, products or technologies.
