Senior Technical Professional Leader, Process

Under broad direction, the incumbent interprets, organizes, executes, coordinates assignments, works independently and may lead a small team and will interface directly with the client. The incumbent will use skills and experience to perform job responsibilities within a growing Bio-Fuels program. Job role is responsible for a measurable asset, such as assignment project team or budget.

This position will report to leadership located in Newark, DE. The position can be performed as a remote work role. Successful candidates may be required to work from the Newark, DE office on an as needed basis to complete client meetings, project reviews or team trainings.

Responsibilities

  • Functions as a process lead for multiple small projects or a large project, potentially involving new, unproven technology. Can also serve as a subject matter expert for a particular area.

  • Applies advanced theories, concepts, principles and processes within function or project

  • Overall responsibility for Process Engineering deliverables, including PFDs, P&IDs, heat and material balances, and process equipment datasheets. Assures Quality Control practices are in place and being followed.

  • Scope definition from receipt of basic data to Issue for Design process deliverables. Interface with client to define operating requirements

  • Leads other engineers to complete project scope and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers. On some occasions, will also plan, schedule, and conduct work requiring independent judgment and adaptation of engineering techniques.

  • Defines the process design basis for other disciplines, specifically mechanical, piping, and instrumentation and interface with these groups throughout project completion

  • Manages budget and schedule commitments and successfully manages change.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • B.S. Chemical Engineering, with 20+ years industry experience

  • Experience in the biofuels or refining industry. Bio feedstock experience a plus.

  • Demonstrated leadership of process design on capital projects, including responsibility for budget, schedule, and change management.

  • Experience with process simulation, PFD & P&ID Development, and equipment sizing.

  • PE Preferred
