ConEdison Welding Engineer, Gas ENG Welding Ctr Excellence in New York, New York
Required Education/Experience
Master's Degree in welding engineering, material science, metallurgy or related field and 2 years of full time work experience in engineering, construction, or other operations area or
Bachelor's Degree in welding engineering, material science, metallurgy or related field and 3 years of full time work experience in engineering, construction or other operations area.
Relevant Work Experience
Must have minimum of 3 years full time relevant experience in application and theory of welding engineering principles in planning, design and/or operation of the natural gas system. Required
Must have knowledge of relevant Federal, State, local codes, API 1104, ASME Section IX, NACE, ASTM and other welding/material standards. Required
Demonstrated ability to adhere to schedules and meet deadlines. Required
Experience working productively and effectively in a team environment. Required
Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Required
Interpretation of radiographs and other non-destructive testing. Preferred
AWS Certified Welding Engineer or ability to obtain one. Preferred
Licenses And Certfications
Driver's License Required
Other: AWS certifications Preferred
Physical Demands
Sit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for the duration of the workday
Ability to read small print and symbols
Additional Physical Demands
Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
Must be able and willing to travel to attend meetings/conference as necessary on Company business.
Must be able and willing to travel to locations within the company service territory as needed.
