Amazon Training Manager, Food Safety in New York, New York

Description

We are seeking an experienced Food Safety Training Manager to oversee the development and implementation of our food safety training programs. This role will be responsible for driving the roadmap and ensuring it is executed on time and effectively to meet organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

Key job responsibilities

• Develop and manage the overall food safety training roadmap, including key milestones, timelines and deliverables

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including subject matter experts, instructional designers and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful execution of training programs

• Regularly communicate progress, challenges and key updates to stakeholders, including senior leadership

• Oversee the quality and effectiveness of food safety training materials and programs

• Implement feedback mechanisms and performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, and drive continuous improvement based on insights and data

• Stay current on food safety regulations and industry standards to ensure training programs remain compliant and up-to-date

• Innovate ways to deliver world-class food safety training

A day in the life

You will be responsible for partnering with a diverse set of stakeholders to develop the training roadmap, create engaging training that influences the right food safety behaviors and measure training program effectiveness. Based on insights and data, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives in the pursuit of world-class food safety training.

About the team

The Food Safety team is in place to enable Amazon to offer safe, compliant food products customers can trust. The team mitigates food safety risk and protects customers from foodborne illness, allergic reactions and otherwise unsafe products, and protects Amazon’s brand and reputation.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience handling confidential information

  • • 3+ years of experience managing Food Safety and Regulatory Compliance at the enterprise level. Understanding regulations for retail and distribution food safety training

  • • Demonstrated experience of managing stakeholder relationships and working with stakeholders at all levels, across multiple teams. Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams.

  • • Experience leading large, fast-moving projects, working with various internal teams to collect requirements, negotiate trade-offs, and evaluate impact

  • • Excellent communication, strong organizational skills and detail oriented

  • • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience. Proficient in using data to drive decisions in a business environment.

  • • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

  • • Experience communicating goals and strategies across multiple leadership levels of an organization

  • 2+ years of experience in managing training/people development related projects or programs. Demonstrated experience of managing and driving innovative training solutions is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience

  • Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials

  • Experience with SQL and Excel

  • • Ability to thrive in a high-energy environment where tactical and strategic activities are expected to be driven in parallel

  • • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

  • • Experience in managing multiple competing projects and priorities simultaneously

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
