Your Mission:

The Technical Business Analyst, Data Operations is a key role in a dynamic team of data analysts, quality assurance managers, data curators and business experts. We leverage industry leading data assets and analytical models to transform the clinical trial industry, driving scientific and operational success for our clients and partners. We provide pioneering data-oriented products to most of the $100B pharmaceutical development industry. The Technical Business Analyst works closely with multi-disciplinary teams to focus on continuous improvement in the operations of data curation.

Your Competencies:

Evaluate existing operational processes and make recommendations for optimizing workflows.

Perform data-driven analyses and provide recommendations to guide the decision-making process of key stakeholders

Serve as the liaison between the Data Operations workstream leads and technical resources to translate business needs into requirements for a technical audience, including creating user stories, synthesizing use cases, defining acceptance criteria, and documenting features

Develop operational business process/workflow documentation including SOPs and work instructions.

Develop test plans, user acceptance tests and coordinate end user testing to include identifying and tracking software defects to resolution.

Develop key messaging and provide proactive and regular communications on cross-functional project status, issues, risks, and problems.

Your Education & Experience:

Must have(s)...

Bachelor's degree in a life science, or quantitative or business discipline (business administration, management information systems, computer science, engineering, statistics or a related field) and a minimum of 5 years of business analysis related experience; or an advanced degree and 2 years of work experience; or equivalent work experience.

Experience as a business analyst on a data science team, technology consultant, or product manager of analytics or operational based software (e.g. study design, CTMS, EDC)

Familiarity with standard business analyst core competencies such as developing business cases, user stories, and workflow diagrams.

Ability to effectively communicate technical information and processes to relevant stakeholders, and to describe business problems and use cases to technical audiences

Proficiency in SQL and/or other programming languages (e.g. SAS, Python or R)

Knowledge of ETL processes

Experience with Oracle RDBMS design, coding, and documentation.

Familiarity with Agile software development principles and experience working in an Agile software development environment (e.g.prioritizing and negotiating trade-off options)

Familiarity with Atlassian product suite (e.g. JIRA, Confluence)

Detail-oriented and highly innovative; demonstrated creative problem solving, analytical and organizational skills.

Nice to have(s) but not required...

Familiarity with data standardization ontologies including medical diagnosis and procedure coding vocabularies (e.g. UMLS, CPT, SNOMED, ICD-9/-10)

Familiarity with analytics concepts such as databases, programming, statistical modeling, machine learning, data visualization

Clinical Research domain experience

Experience in leading business process re-engineering efforts for at least one software project.
