Organization Overview: The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. Program Description:The Manhattan Outreach Consortium provides outreach and housing placement services to adults who are street homeless. The Uptown team serves the UWS and UES of Manhattan and collaborates with various community partners and healthcare agencies throughout Manhattan. The catchment area includes W. 59th –W. 110th Street & E. 59th – E. 96th Street, river to river.
Schedule:Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Salary Range: $62,400-$71,946
Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salary offer will be based on the candidate’s number of years experience in the exact or comparable position and additional preferred qualifications will be taken into account.
Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties
- Staff Supervision
Direct oversight of caseload, data collection, funder reporting and other administrative duties
Provide clinical supervision to Housing Outreach Specialists; conduct weekly supervision to review client status and goals for assigned staff
Advise staff re: clinical assessment of clients and need for hospitalization, coordinate 9.58 as needed
Support outreach team in the performance of client intake, clinical assessment, service planning, advocacy, referral and escort services to assist in housing placement
Carry a small caseload of clients
Provide on call coverage at times
- Collaborate within and across agencies
Interface with various community agencies, funders and stakeholders relevant to our client population
Attend staff meetings, case conferences, training programs and supervision meetings; participate in program evaluation and improvement
- Outreach services
Participate in outreach trips to identify and communicate with homeless clients
Assist Outreach staff in canvassing, Joint Operations, DHS Clean-ups as needed
Participate in 4 overnight counts each year
Other duties as required
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
LMSW or Master’s in Social Work preferred, Masters in a related field may be considered
Ability to obtain 9.58 Designation
Prior clinical experience with homelessness, mental health, and/or substance abuse
Supervisory experience strongly preferred
Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets the agency's auto insurance guidelines (including no suspensions within the last 3 years
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Ability to multi-task/work in a fast-paced environment
Strong leadership skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Proficiency in Spanish and English preferred
Understanding of homelessness, housing first and harm reduction models preferred
Physical Requirements
Frequent walking and standing
Occasional lifting of up to 30lbs

Computer Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Ability to learn computer databases such as Streetsmart, MOCAPP and CARES
