EisnerAmper is seeking a Senior Associate to join our Telecom team within our State and Local Tax practice. This position will participate in collaboration with tax department resources and client relations for assigned tax compliance and consulting engagements. What Work You Will be Responsible For:
  • Participates in full range of State and Local Tax services including income/franchise and sales/use tax return preparation, tax research, preparation of technical memorandums, drafting client correspondence, assisting clients in audit defense.

  • Identifies optimal filing positions, exemptions, credits and incentives, and identify corporate structures for tax minimization purposes.

  • Calculating communications tax liabilities and advising clients on communications tax compliance

  • Maintains proactive communication with clients to exceed expectations, ensure satisfaction, make sure deadlines are met, and lead change efforts effectively.

  • Works closely with members of other practice groups to develop internal relationships.

  • Manages, trains, and mentors associates and interns on client projects and professional development.

  • Serves as a technical resource for associates and interns; begin to identify new technical issues in specialty area and take initiative to communicate with others on staff to increase awareness and understanding of the issue(s).

  • Conducts sophisticated tax research, consulting, and analysis to discuss with managers, senior managers, principals, and shareholders.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 3+ years of relevant State and Local Tax (Income/Franchise Tax, Credits and Incentives, Sales and Use Tax, and Property Tax)

Preferred/Desired Qualifications:
  • CPA designation

  • Experience in a public accounting or professional services firm environment

  • Knowledge of relevant state and local legislative updates, court cases, announcements, and authorities

  • Experience with communications tax and regulatory compliance

  • Exhibits a high degree of professionalism and maintain the highest level of confidentiality

  • Able to demonstrate critical thinking and analytical skills

  • Analytical, technical and tax accounting / technology skills with proficiency in US GAAP, tax compliance, corporate consolidated returns, and combined state tax returns

  • Strong leadership, recruiting, training, coaching and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent written, interpersonal and presentation skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in business and technical environments

  • Professionally and appropriately communicate with a diverse group of individuals.

  • Able to work in a highly organized manner within a fast-paced, innovative, and continuously changing environment

  • Demonstrates technical proficiency and the capability of performing at an intermediate or advanced level with respect to the Microsoft Office Suite of products with an emphasis in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills, or similar software applications

For NYC and California, the expected salary range for this position is between

80000

and

115000

The range for the position in other geographies may vary based on market differences.The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
