Job Description

Supervises, plans, organizes, and evaluates non-clinical functions and activities on inpatient and/or ambulatory units. Supervises support staff and responds to patient concerns to promote quality patient care. Functions as a patient advocate in non-clinical matters.

Job Responsibility

  • Promotes Patient Transportation department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable team members.

  • Leads the activities of assigned Patient Transportation team members by communicating and providing guidance toward achieving department objectives.

  • Maintains current knowledge of and ensures compliance with all regulatory standards of care; develops quality improvement programs and instructs staff on same.

  • Develops unit goals and objective to support the institutional values and goals, with input from nursing; selects, develops, supervises and evaluates direct reports; ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner.

  • Prioritizes, schedules, assigns, and monitors work to optimize operational service; oversees clerical functions on patient floors to ensure adequate staffing and equipment to maintain optimal patient environment.

  • Develops and implements on-going formal orientations and educational programs; evaluates results; creates and maintains a supportive environment for all staff and students.

  • Keeps current on a variety of management and health care topics and is accountable for self-development; prepares, monitors and implements supply and services, payroll, and budgets.

  • Identifies, develops, implements, and maintains cost effective methodologies for delivery of supplies and equipment in assigned areas of responsibility; develops, implements, and monitors preventive maintenance and equipment replacement programs.

  • Participates as a member of the healthcare team and various interdisciplinary committees to improve patient care and meet patient needs.

  • Promotes collegial relationships based on mutual respect and support.

  • Acts as a liaison to various departments to facilitate the delivery of patient care.

Job Qualification

  • Associate's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience and 0-2 years of leadership / management experience, required.

The salary range for this position is $58,500-$75,012/year
