The Supervisor, reporting to various locations and boroughs, and working under the supervision of a Manager or Deputy Director will have responsibilities that include but are not limited to the following:

  • Organizes, disseminates and ensures completion of work assignments; prioritizing, researching and communicating within the unit, external agencies and to other Divisions;

  • Performs field inspections, follow ups, performance evaluations, training evaluations, and provides training as needed;

  • Prepares training materials and participates in policy/process review and development;

  • Manages data, prepares/complies reports, and provides analysis to upper management, as directed;

  • Ensure quality control and the meeting of all standards of Quality Assurance;

  • Manages staff and all related administrative, training and disciplinary needs;

  • May perform duties of Manager or Deputy Director in his/her absence;

  • Ensures compliance with Agency and Divisional policies and Code of Conduct;

  • Represents the Division and Department in both internal and external meetings;

  • Managing evidence and provides reconciliations as needed;

  • Coordinating the adjudicatory process and represents the department at OATH;

Managing communications and liaises with internal stakeholders and external agencies to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

  1. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of full-time satisfactory experience in a consumer or worker protection agency conducting inspections or investigations, at least one year of which must have been in a supervisory or administrative capacity or as an Inspector Assignment Level II; or

  2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in a consumer or worker protection agency conducting inspections or investigations in a supervisory or administrative capacity or as an Inspector Assignment Level II; or

  3. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" or "2" above. College education may be substituted for the required experience on the basis of 30 semester credits for each year of required experience. However, all candidates must have a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent.

License Requirement:

Possession of a Motor Vehicle Driver License valid in the State of New York at the time of appointment. The license must be maintained for the duration of employment.
